FN:s Milleniemål och deras påverkan på den svenska biståndspolitiken

The purpose of this thesis is to study to what extent the UN millennium development goals have influenced Sweden?s development policy. The research method that I have used is a qualitative text analysis and I have studied the ideas in governmental texts and millennium development goals reports from 1995-2008.My hypothesis is that the basic ideas that has symbolized Sweden?s development policy has not changed much since the adoption of the millennium development goals in year 2000. This hypothesis is based on different ideas that the basic perspectives in international development policy are rather constant.My conclusion is that many of the areas that are affected by the millennium development goals already are prioritized areas within Swedish development policy, for example poverty reduction and gender equality.

Glokala kampanjer mot fattigdom : Kommunikationsstrategier bakom statliga Världens Chans och ideella Utrota Fattigdomen Nu

Purpose/Aim: The purpose is to describe, analyze and compare the two communication campaigns Världens Chans and Utrota Fattigdomen Nu, and discuss how and to what extent communication campaigns in Sweden can be used to reduce global poverty. The theoretical framework is mainly based on communications strategies and other relevant aspects of the planning process of campaigns.Material/Method: Within the qualitative case study as an overall method, the main material to the two cases is obtained through five qualitative interviews with the premier representatives of the campaigns.Main results: Världens Chans can be seen as an information campaign by the government which purpose is to contribute to the fulfilment of the Millennium goals by drawing the attention of the public to their existence. Utrota Fattigdomen Nu, on the other hand, is an influence campaign by the civil society which purpose is to exterminate poverty by putting a pressure on power holders and to change the attitudes and the behaviours among the public. Both campaigns are based on a network with lots of different actors, functioning as opinion makers. Furthermore, communication campaigns are important tools in the fight against poverty..

Jämförelse av Dimensioneringsprogram : En jämförelse mellan Robot Millennium och StruSoft FEM- Design

 Syftet med detta projekt är att göra en marknadsundersökning av dimensioneringsprogram för byggnadskonstruktörer och att ge en rekommendation till Byggteknik AB för val av programvara. Metoden är att först genomföra en marknadsundersökning, sedan utvärdera lämpliga program och sist ge en rekommendation. Utvärderingen och rekommendationen ska grundas på användarvändlighet, pris, support, uppdateringar, långsiktig ägare, landsstandarder och utbildningsbehov. Resultatet från användandet gav stora differenser, med över 50% större maximalt moment i StruSoft FEM- Design och över dubbelt så stor nedböjning i Robot Millennium. Jämförelsen mellan programmen visar att Robot Millennium har en bättre användarvänlighet och lägre pris. Dock har StruSoft FEM- Design svensk support, automatiska uppdateringar och hanterar svensk landsstandard.

Millennium Mindscreen - Om det filmiska jaget och den samtida förstapersonsfilmen

Denna uppsats diskuterar, utifrån relevant teori inom narratologin, det filmiska förstapersonsberättandet och dess konstruktion. Vilka fattiga är fattigast? : fattigdomsfokusering av det svenska frivilligorganisations-biståndet jämfört med det totala svenska biståndet

 This paper discusses whether the allocation of Swedish aid is dependent on absolute or relative poverty, and whether there is any difference in this respect between ODA and aid distributed through officially funded NGO?s. Given the Millennium Development Goals, and their overarching goal of halving extreme poverty by 2015, we should expect the aid allocation to be determined by absolute rather than relative poverty. We use OLS to estimate multiple linear regressions. We find that Swedish ODA has an absolute poverty focus, while the Swedish NGO aid rather seems to be concentrated on relative poverty. .

This thesis examines the relationship between OECD-DAC and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) within an aid efficiency context. The ability for these two actors to cooperate is highly important and determines the outcome for a major part of the development aid in the new millennium. The development agenda for the new millennium emphasizes aid efficiency as a key to a more successful aid, and this requires increased cooperation between all actors. The analysis made is a discourse analysis. The discourse of aid efficiency is analyzed, both its preconditions and results.The analyze finds out that there is a gap between OECD-DAC and CSOs in terms of how to handle aid efficiency.

Method: Qualitative with a semi standardised questionnaire Results: Our results is that the incentive programs for employees in their present form don?t give the companies a good possibility to effect the employees to perform towards the goals of the system. The performance measures in the incentive programs for employees is suitable in comparison with the goals of the program but the construction and the use of the systems doesn?t give a satisfied result in comprising with the goals.

How does the implementation of the environmental goals works by länsstyrelserna in Blekinge, Skåne and Örebro län? Which problems creates obstacles in the implementation of the environmental goals according to länsstyrelserna? What differs between länsstyrelserna in the implementation? The aim of this thesis is to see if there are differences in how managers and other staff looks at goals for short-term accommodation. The results show that there is a difference in views on the goals. Konstnärlig process och måluppfyllelse i Lunds Vokalensemble - "...en lite sån magisk upplevelse"

The aim of this study is to investigate how Lunds Vokalensemble achieves its goals and in which way the goals influence the choir's work. The study also explores the choir's artistic process. Qualitative interviews and observations were used as a method. Four singers and the director participated to the interviews. The results show that the choir's artistic goals have quite an influence on many aspects of the choir's work, both in a musical and a social way.
